Graduating from Fuller Theological Seminary
Today marks a milestone in my life. This morning I graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with my Masters of Arts in Theology. I have so many thoughts and feelings- super excited, but mostly just grateful. Grateful to my wife for her countless sacrifice and loving me through every emotion and thought throughout the experience. Grateful to my teachers and my classmates for expanding my mind and encouraging my faith. Grateful to my family and friends for supporting me every step of the way. Grateful for my church family who supported me and encouraged me to go back to school in the first place.
Lots of people have asked me if my goal with getting my degree is to transition into being a preaching pastor. I am open to that if God leads me, however I got my Masters in Theology to become a better worship leader. I believe that one of the things we need most in our churches today are worship leaders who think theologically about worship services- Writing and choosing songs with theological correctness and depth- placing pastoral leadership over performance and program- servanthood, not stardom.
I want to encourage all my worship leader friends out there to learn as much good theology as you can and set an example of what it looks like to worship God with your whole heart, soul, strength, and mind.
